THE TRIMBLE HOUSE

When the train line came to Hot Springs around 1900, building materials were no longer limited. The grand brick additions to The Homestead were underway and some of the very same bricks became the foundation for this home in 1905. Virgin white oak from surrounding forests filled all the other construction needs.

Ten foot ceilings, plaster walls, and all the original woodwork have been carefully preserved over the last 100 years. The home features an expansive living room with a deep brick fireplace. There is also a smaller family parlor and a large dining room. The kitchen has been updated with extensive birch cabinetry and counter space. A cozy breakfast room with a bay window looking onto the slate patio was added to the original floor plan. The main level has numerous closets as well as a full bath.

The second floor has a large master bedroom with private bath at the rear of the house. There are two additional bedrooms that share a third full bath. The home is completed with an extensive floored attic, full basement including a laundry area and workshop and a one-car garage.

The beautiful landscaping and immaculate gardens provide lots of curb appeal. The dry-stacked stone walls form lovely terraced flower beds around the private backyard patio.

The current owners have lived in the home for almost 50 years. Their pride of ownership is evident wherever you look and they have always tried to restore the home to preserve it's original character.
